Tobogganing is one of our great Canadian traditions! Pack up the family and head out to one of the National Capital Greenbelt’s toboggan hills. These snowy hills are some of the best in the Ottawa region and will surely thrill both the young and young at heart.

Bruce Pit

The Bruce Pit toboggan hill is located in the Stony Swamp section of the Greenbelt. The hills offer great daytime sliding, but are not lit at night.

Washrooms There are outhouses at the P12 parking lot.
Parking Free parking is available at the P12 parking lot.

Conroy Pit

The Conroy Pit toboggan hill is located in the Pine Grove Forest section of the Greenbelt. At Conroy Pit you can toboggan by evening as well as by day. The hill is lit daily from 4 pm to 11 pm.

Washrooms There are outhouses at the P17 parking lot.
Parking Free parking is available at the P17 parking lot. Please drive with caution along the access road to the hill — the speed limit is 20 km/hr.

Green’s Creek

There are also toboggan hills at Green’s Creek. These hills are lit in the evening, extending the fun. The Green’s Creek toboggan hills are maintained by the City of Ottawa. For more information, contact the City of Ottawa.

Safety Information

Have a fun and safe time tobogganing. Please follow these safety tips and rules:

  • Always use caution when sledding and keep to the sides when climbing up the hills.
  • It is recommended that children be equipped with appropriate protective head gear.
  • Snowboarding and snow jumps (moguls) are not permitted.
  • Stay off the toboggan hills when they are closed.

Users toboggan at their own risk at all times.

Temporary Closures

Throughout the winter, toboggan hills may be temporarily closed when conditions deteriorate and pose a hazard to users. When closed, signs are posted at the toboggan hill and on our website.
