Pine Grove, to the south of Ottawa, is a mixture of tree plantations and natural forests. It is the largest forest in the Greenbelt. Pine Grove has 18.4 kilometres of hiking and cross-country ski trails and 9.6 kilometres of trails for horseback riding. Take a self-guided tour along the forestry interpretation trail (trail 43) and learn about tree types at the tree-identification arboretum.
The Pine Grove area is also home to Conroy Pit, a popular dog park with off-leash areas. In the winter there is a toboggan hill that is lit at night.
