Hop on your bike, or grab your in-line skates, and hit the parkways — they’re closed to motor vehicles every Sunday morning from May 23 to September 5. More than 50 kilometres of pure fun!

Parkways Closed to Motor Vehicles for Sunday Bikedays

Ottawa River Parkway: The westbound lanes, located on the south side of the Ottawa River and west of downtown, are closed from 9 am to 1 pm, from Vimy Place (Canadian War Museum) to Carling Avenue. (5.5 km)

Colonel By Drive*: Both lanes, located on the east side of the Rideau Canal, are closed from 9 am to 1 pm, from the Laurier Bridge to the Hogs Back Bridge. (7.6 km)

Rockcliffe Parkway: Both lanes, running along the south side of the Ottawa River just east of downtown, are closed from 9 am to 1 pm, from the Aviation Parkway to St. Joseph Boulevard in Orleans. (8.4 km)

Gatineau Park pathways: The Gatineau, Champlain and Fortune parkways are completely closed to motor vehicles from 6 am to 11 am. These parkways cover challenging, hilly terrain. One section, to the north of Lac-Meech Road (parking lot P8), is ideal for families with young children and is closed for two additional hours, 6 am to 1 pm. (30.5 km)

* Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays is cancelled on Colonel By Drive on Sunday, May 30, for the National Capital Race Weekend.
