Youth Engagement in City Building
As we plan for the future of the Capital, we must not forget to include the voices of millennials and Generation Z. After all, they will be the ones implementing these plans!
At our next Capital Urbanism Lab, we’ll explore how various groups are engaging youth in city building to strengthen our communities. Our guest speakers will address how they empower youth to take action on local issues, such as housing, transportation and community development.
Our guest speakers include:
- Deborah McKoy, Executive Director, Center for Cities and School, University of California Berkeley
- Genna DiPinto, Chair, City of Edmonton Youth Council
- Pierre-Olivier Bouchard, Co-President, Gatineau youth commission
- Josiane Cossette, Agent, Gatineau youth commission
The Wingd team will be our social media ambassadors at the event. Wingd is a multimedia company that empowers youth and fosters youth entrepreneurship. Join the conversation: #UrbanLab.
This is event is presented in partnership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI).
OPPI members undertaking Continuous Professional Learning may claim learning units according to the CPL Program Guide.
